Considering a 365 Project

I enjoy photography almost as much as eating.  I have been blessed with a wife who is a wonderful cook; among her many other talents.  So lately photography has been on the slide. I'm trying to find ways to keep improving my photography.  So, I'm considering a 365 project which requires me to take and post a photo for each day of the year.  I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet, but in this case I got to photograph my dinner and eat it too!  Yes it was delicious!

G9 Dust Concerns

I have read about dust contamination inside the lens of the Canon G9 camera. Since I own a canon G9, and carry it with me frequently I decided to check; sure enough my lens is filled with all sorts of dust and lint. I was very concerned and planned to have my camera cleaned. After doing some research I found that it was a common problem and that most types of photography would not be noticeably impacted. Most types did not include macro; so I snapped some macros of a few flowers at home with my dust filled G9. I could not find any problems with the images. I'm still going to get it cleaned.

Lifes a ...

Hello Everyone,
I'm not so sure I like blogging; it seems like yelling into the dark, you're not so sure if you want a response. I was playing with Depth Of Field while on the beach with some interesting results. I also captured some pictures of gulls on the beach.

Weddings

I have shot weddings both for fun and as the contract photographer. I enjoy being in the mix but I require establishing a friendship with the paying clients prior to signing a contract. This shot is from a cousin's wedding; It is his new daughter, who in my opion stole the show ;)

Welcome

Hello everyone,
I just started a blog to capture the ongoing saga of my attempt to improve my skills as a photographer. I plan to post frequently and capture new things I have attempted or just good results that I have achieved related to photography. I hope to link this blog to my SmugMug account in the near future. I always welcome comments; even on photos that didn't turn out. This photo was shot early in the morning in an attempt to capture a vineyard but I got a cow in the sky.
I hope you enjoy,
Michael
